In Thailand, when you say Fried Rice without mentioning other characteristics, Thai people will understand that you are referring to this kind of Fried Rice. Typically, in Thailand, people like to select one of these as a choice of meat for this dish: pork, chicken, shrimp or crab meat.
Ingredients
- Vegetable Oil
- Garlic
- Egg
- Rice
- Onion
- Pork
- Tomato
- Soy sauce
- Pepper
- Sugar
- Fish Sauce
- Scallion
- Lime or Lemon
- Chili
- Cucumber
- Cilantro
Preparation
- Fry 1 teaspoon of chopped Garlic and 1/4 cup of chopped Onion in 1-2 tablespoons of Vegetable Oil until it starts changing color.
- Add 1/2 cup of pork that is cut in pieces. Wait until Pork is cooked. Add 1 Egg, then stir and fry it.
- Wait until Egg is cooked, then add 1 and 1/2 cups of steamed rice and 1/2 cup of chopped Tomato.
- Season it with Pepper, Soy Sauce, Sugar and Fish Sauce. Then mix it thoroughly.
- Add Chopped Scallion and mix it thoroughly. Then turn off the stove.
- Place Cilantro and Cucumber slices as the garnish .
- Prepare Chili Fish Sauce by chopping 1 chili and add it to a sauce bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of Fish Sauce in the bowl. Then serve the Fried Rice with a piece of lime and this Chili Fish Sauce on the side.
