Curry Puff

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Prepare outer shell
  2. 2 Mix half cup of water with 2 teaspoons of sugar and a pinch of salt. Stir until it dissolves.
  3. Mix two cups of flour with mixture on step1. Or gradually add mixture until the dough holds together and no powder sticks on the side of the bowl.
  4. Prepare inner wrap
  5. Mix one cup of flour with 6 teaspoons of vegetable oil. Or gradually add vegetable oil until the dough holds together and no powder sticks on the side of the bowl.
  6. Prepare filling
  7. Boil potato, then cut it in dices.
  8. Pour a little bit of vegetable oil on a pan and start heating it. Wait until it heats, then add 2 cups of chicken dices. Fry until it is cooked. Then add one cup of potato dices with half cup of onion dices.
  9. Season it with Soy source, Sugar, Salt, Pepper and Curry powder.
  10. Prepare Wrapping
  11. Take a portion of outer dough and a portion of inner dough. Ratio of outer and inner dough is 2 : 1.
  12. Shape each portion in a ball shape. Flatten the outer chunk, then wrap outer chunk over the inner chunk. Shape it in a ball shape again. Then flatten the ball. (Oval shape) Roll the Oval shape dough from one short length edge to reach another edge.
  13. Flatten it again by making the longer edge extended. Roll the Oval shape dough from one short length edge to reach another edge again. Then cut this dough at half length.
  14. Place the cross section to the top, the you can see a swirl that caused from two kinds of dough.
  15. Flatten this chunk again. Then place the filling in the middle of the swirl. Fold it in half and tuck the half circle edge around.
  16. Then deep fry the raw curry puff in vegetable oil.
